A fortnight after we first met NoBroker, their office was vandalised by a mob of real estate brokers. For us, that was a clear indication that their “idea” was significant and had the potential to disrupt and transform the real estate market. We immediately called and after enquiring about their safety confirmed our partnership.

It was back in 2015 when we first heard about NoBroker and initiated our first round of meetings. At the time, the Indian real estate market was undergoing a complete makeover. NoBroker’s idea was so revolutionary that people within the real estate industry and consumers alike thought it was impractical. We liked that about their vision and the people behind the idea.
One of the first things that stood out about Amit Kumar, Akhil Gupta and Saurabh Garg, the founding team, was how well-synchronized they were. Complementing and supplementing each other, they presented an idea with an aim to revolutionise the industry. A disruptive idea by a capable team was too tempting an opportunity for BEENEXT to pass. At BEENEXT, we are always on the look-out for creative ideas and driven founders wanting to solve real-world problems.
We officially partnered with NoBroker in August 2015 and invested in September; at the time there were a couple of other start-ups entering the market as well. Three years down the line and many of those competitors had either shut shop or were acquired, while NoBroker remained a strong market contender reassuring us of our decision to back them. Over the years our relationship has evolved from mentor-investor to friend and co-creator. We were happy to be able to open doors for NoBroker to meet other investors as the company grew in scale and revenue.
Today, NoBroker is a market leader in the real estate tech domain having built their business well with a full suite of services and are strongly poised for growth. With a dynamic market like real estate, they have changed plans but not their direction. They have always remained steadfast about their core philosophy.
Within the BEENEXT community, we are always interacting, exchanging ideas and putting the learnings to practice we gather from each other. For me, I strongly identified with how NoBroker’s founding team never skips steps and let their speed for growth impact the sequence. They are fast but they don’t hurry.
